Republican sources say that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will endorse John McCain for president Thursday. This announcement is coming right before the Super Tuesday primaries, which includes California and its 170 delegates.
After his Florida win over Mitt Romney, McCain is seeing the endorsements coming in: from Rudy Giuliani after his bid drop to both Georgia senators.
But it’s not a straight shot yet for McCain. He has to work to gain the support of a large portion of the conservative base, who differ with his opinions on immigration, taxes, campaign finance, etc. Even the Republicans are using the “change” catch phrase, including a Romney aide who said,
“that Romney represents change while McCain is ‘more of the same.’”
