Jimmy Carter Speaks Out

Here’s an article about former President Jimmy Carter’s views on the Vice President, torture, and other matters.

Carter is usually called irrelevant or is merely dismissed, but he is standing up for human rights, and has been since he left office. Speaking out against torture is not “rhetoric,” and I don’t feel that it’s too off base to call Dick Cheney a “militant.” Carter understands that not much good has come out of the Bush presidency. He has gotten us into arguably the largest foreign policy disaster in U.S. history, has divided the country along party lines using wedge issues and divide and conquer tactics, has cut taxes during war time, and now is denying poor children access to affordable health care. I think that puts him in contention for the “worst (administration) in history.”
