It must be a few degrees colder in hell today, because I’m agreeing with Dubya on something. The Senate approved a bill to extend the ban on state Internet access taxes for another seven years. Republicans wanted to make the ban permanent, but were opposed by Senate Democratic leaders. The House approved a similar bill two weeks ago that only extended the ban for four years. The two chambers will need to work out the differences before sending the bill to the President, who has expressed his eagerness to sign it.
“I urge Congress to keep the Internet tax-free — and to get a bill to my desk that I can sign,” Bush said.
