Who wants to be first to waterboard John Ashcroft?

What luck we’ve had with Attorney Generals in the U.S.! Remember the one before Gonzales, John Ashcroft? Yep, the one who still thinks the Patriot Act is a good idea. He spoke at the University of Colorado on Tuesday to defend both the act and Guantanamo (a “good place” according to Ashcroft). But he was met with numerous questions and protests from the audience.

The most interesting audience question: Would you, John Ashcroft, be willing to undergo waterboarding?

“The things that I can survive, if it were necessary to do them to me, I would do,” he said.

So there’s the answer. Any form of interrogation that doesn’t kill someone is acceptable. Good to know.

  1. Uh, what kind of convoluted answer is that? So he wouldn’t do things that he can’t survive? So he would do things that are necessary, as long as they don’t kill him? Thanks for the enlightenment John, but I don’t think that’s really the answer to the question you were asked.

Maybe we should waterboard him to get a straight answer. It seems necessary to me.

    Btw, I love the picture.
