The libertarian leaning Republican with impressive fund raising skills has out done himself. With a “money bomb” coinciding with the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, Paul and his supporters raised more than $6 million in one day. This puts his quarterly total to more than $18 million.
According to his website, Paul eclipsed the all-time, single-day primary fundraising record which stood at $5.7 million, reached by John Kerry in 2004.
Despite all this monetary support, Paul still trails in every state and national poll. The highest I have seen him climb is 7% in the latest New Hampshire poll. Nationally he still sits at 4%.
*UPDATE* According to CNN.com, Paul is polling at 11% in South Carolina.
