Kerry Shows Support for Obama

Senator John Kerry, seen above discreetly picking his nose, gave his endorsement for Barack Obama Thursday in South Carolina, arguing that Obama does indeed have the experience necessary to be president.

“Martin Luther King Jr. said the time is always right to do what is right,” Senator Kerry said. “And I’m here in South Carolina because this is the right time to share with you, to make sure that we know that I have the confidence and that Barack Obama can be, will be and should be the next president of the United States.”

Although Kerry has been planning the endorsement for some time, he decided not to announce it until after the New Hampshire primary. Kerry chose Obama to make the infamous Democratic National Convention speech in 2004, which began Obama’s national recognition. Other major Democrats are expected to express their support for Obama in the coming days as he fights to come back from the second place finish in New Hampshire.

  1. Take a hint John Edwards. Not even your old running mate wants you to be president!

  2. This could be huge. Way to downplay it by making fun of the man! haha.

  3. Don’t count Edwards out as discarded. As things move on Edwards seems more and more likely as the running mate of choice for Obama, should he grab the nomination. His tag teaming on Hillary and now the Kerry connection makes it it quite plausible.

  4. Well, I think a lot of us here would like to see him as Obama’s VP, it’s just that he is currently taking away votes from him. I mean, if Edwards isn’t in the race in New Hampshire, then Obama wins. However, I understand that Edwards still wants to be seen as a major player in order to become VP, but it is hurting Obama.

  5. Ha, I’m not trying to play it down-I just liked the picture. 🙂 It is a big deal, especially because he shafted his former running mate. I approve, John Kerry.

  6. I know, I know, just being an ass 🙂
