Final Nevada and South Carolina Results

Three different races today, with three different winners to report.

In Nevada caucuses today Mitt Romney grabbed the Republican win and Hillary Clinton took it for the Democrats. The final results were as follows:

Democrats (with 98% reporting)
Hillary Clinton- 51%
Barack Obama- 45%
John Edwards- 4%
All others- 0%

Republicans
Mitt Romney- 51%
Ron Paul- 14%
John McCain- 13%
Mike Huckabee- 8%
Fred Thompson- 8%
Rudy Giuliani- 4%
Duncan Hunter- 2%
Tom Tancredo- 0%

It’s worth noting that while Clinton received a higher percentage in Nevada, Obama actually got more delegates because of the areas that he won–with 13 over Clinton’s 12.

In South Carolina where the Republicans held their primary, John McCain narrowly beat out Mike Huckabee with 95% of precincts reporting.

John McCain- 33%
Mike Huckabee- 30%
Fred Thompson- 16%
Mitt Romney- 15%
Ron Paul- 4%
Rudy Giuliani- 2%
Duncan Hunter- 0%

Only 10% of Republican voters in South Carolina were 18-29 year olds, while 35% were 60 years and older.

Stay tuned for reactions to these results, and where trailing Obama and Huckabee will have to take it from here.
