Obama Completes Weekend Sweep (Including Grammy!)

Barack Obama completed a sweep of the four states holding primaries and caucuses this weekend with a victory in the Maine caucuses Sunday, where he is currently enjoying an 18% lead, 59% to 41% with 79% reporting. He also bested the Clintons at the Grammy Awards as his book “The Audacity Of Hope: Thoughts On Reclaiming The American Dream” beat out Bill Clinton’s “Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World” for the award for best spoken word album. Up next is Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia, all primaries, on Tuesday. If Obama can win even two of the three states it could convince superdelegates and other influential Democrats to get behind the Obama camp as the longer they remain undecided the more time John McCain’s campaign has time to rest and attempt to gain support among conservatives without having to worry about staving off attacks from the Democratic nominee.
