Raúl Castro officially declared Cuba’s new president

In a move that didn’t surprise anyone, Fidel Castro’s brother, Raúl Castro, was named the new Cuban president on Sunday.  Raúl has been serving as temporary president of the country since 2006, when Fidel had intestinal surgery, and has made it clear than any changes to Cuba while be limited under his rule, vowing to still consult with Fidel on important decisions.

In equally predictable news, the sun is still set to rise tomorrow morning.
